These platform-as-a-service (PaaS) providers allow website or application developers to focus on the app they're making, rather than the infrastructure needed to serve it. There's a wide variety of types, from basic cloud infrastructure to completely managed services that allow users to simply push their code and have their app deployed. Often the more managed solutions have higher prices, however this will frequently be worth the time saved on setting up infrastructure for performance, security and monitoring. This list focuses mostly on the more managed of the offerings.

The following books were recommended by developers in posts and comments on the [Game Developer Stack Exchange](https://gamedev.stackexchange.com/). The list includes how many times they were mentioned, so you can see which are more prominent in the game developer community. Books mentioned more than 3 times were included, in order to focus on quality over quantity. You can [sort the books by mentions](/t/game-dev-book?s=most-mentioned). The books can be purchased via Amazon, so if one strikes your fancy you'll be helping me maintain the site Enjoy!

These tools often include sorting by length and readability, filtering out numbers and dashes, and automatically combining words or searching for domains that contain words which are synonyms of the query.

A domain name registrar is a tool which allows users to register a domain name. They often provide additional services such as website and email hosting. Many employ pushy marketing and upsell techniques. You'll want to avoid those. Arguably you can estimate the amount of respect a registrar has for its clients by the amount of upsells you have to disagree to before you get to the checkout. A rough approximation of this number is shown here as a vague guide to, essentially, how much bullshit you may have to endure.
